In this social media age of highly curated, envy-inducing images, it’s hard to remember that beauty is, first and foremost, in the eye of the beholder. When we accept the standards of beauty thrust upon us by society, we lose sight of the fact that each individual has the power to create their own definition.
Once you stop comparing your present reality to what you wish it could be, you just might discover that what you’ve been longing for was right in front of your eyes all along.
I choose the beauty of small wonders and new perspectives. I look for patterns, sunlight, lines, colors, and water droplets everywhere I go. Whenever something catches my eye, I’m reminded that each moment on this planet is a gift to be acknowledged with all five of my senses.
